IPL is a breakthrough in skin treatments and
can correct many skin problems, such as rosacea,
sun damage, birthmarks, port wine stains and thread
veins. It is a highly effective pain-free, safe
procedure which has minimum down time.
IPL improves the skin tone. It stimulates collagen
production and clears many blemishes on the skin,
including thread veins, sun spots, birthmarks,
acne scarring, port wine stains, fine lines and
wrinkles.
The rapid light pulses emitted by the hand piece
are absorbed by any lesions and red veins in the
skin. This is then converted to heat which destroys
any lesions and blood vessels.
IPL rejuvenates the superficial and deeper layers
of the skin. It also provides beneficial thermal
energy to the deep tissue. Significant results
are seen after four to six sessions - a noticeable
reduction of unwanted pigmentation; evened out
skin tone; faded freckles; reduced redness in
rosacea and acne; and the appearance of smoother,
revitalised skin for all skin types.
Skin should be protected from the damaging effects
of the sun. Using an SPF of 25-30 is recommended
every day. This will ensure the beneficial effects
last for longer.

have a top up treatment after six months to one
year.
Intense Pulsed Light is one of the safest techniques
available. Any redness that may occur immediately
after treatment will disappear within a matter
of hours. Side effects are minimal. They may include
a slight reddening of the skin or local swelling,
which usually disappears after a few hours. IPL
is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant, has
fake or natural tanned or sunburnt skin, or on
any area with a cold sore.
